Each piece of handmade furniture from Balmain & Balmain is created to order to your specifications. That means you have a huge array of options available to tailor each piece to your tastes. Here are a few of the options available for you to customise on our bespoke chairs and sofas...
A straight upholstered back, meaning no back cushions. Often this style is seen accessorised with scatter cushions.
An elegant curve to the upholstered back — often regarded as a traditional style, it can adopt a very modern feel in the right fabric.
The classic cushion back sofa — we offer a choice of fillings, including traditional feather, and the choice of 2 or 3 cushions for our larger sofas.

A rounded, decorative finish to the arms — curving outwards from the base, they combine a traditional look with comfort.
A flat-fronted finish to the arms with piping to the outer edge, this gives a fuller profile to the front of the furniture.
Removing the piping cord detail gives a deliberately plain finish to the arm and a modern, slick appearance.

A style that is regaining popularity, a skirted finish includes loose panels that hide the feet on the sofa's base.
A plain wooden, flattened "bun" foot that echoes a style that is centuries old. Can be used to create a very modern finish.
