Slightly bigger than our Lambourne, the Arun is quite a formal piece — typically customers specify a fluted- or button-back version, but you can have a plain back too.

 

As an occasional chair, the Arun is spot on for the drawing room, where turned legs would be best, or in a bedroom with a kick-pleat skirt or a frilly skirt. The pair shown above have button backs, contrast piping and turned legs and casters.
